2015 Riesling – Wismer Vineyard (Foxcroft Block)   $25

Exquisitely fragrant, the 2015 Riesling leaps from the glass with vibrant aromas of lime zest, orange blossom, nutmeg and beeswax. On the palate, a hint of honey, spice and citrus leads to an incredibly full and intense texture balanced by crisp acidity that lingers through to a clean, long finish.

2015 The Fifty Chardonnay   $22

The town of Winona, Ontario (where our winery is located) was first named “The Fifty”, short for the “The Fifty Road Settlement”, being 50 miles from Niagara Falls and the American border. As an homage to this area, we created a truly unique wine. This Chardonnay was fermented in oak barrels, before being moved to stainless steel tanks for aging on yeast lees for 9 months. Barrel fermentation adds texture and mouthfeel, while lees aging in stainless steel keeps fresh fruit and mineral at the centre of this wine. We feel this is the best one yet. You will not taste anything quite like it!

2014 Chardonnay – Wismer Vineyard (Foxcroft Block)   $35

Mature vines really display the wonderful minerality of the Twenty Mile Bench in Vineland in what was a warm, but not hot vintage.  Fantastic peach, pear and lime aromas intertwine with a slight limestone/reductive note on the nose. On the palate, pineapple, lemon and crème-brule play off a mineral base. A round, mouth-filling texture is balanced by good acidity leading to a long, supple finish.

2013 Pinot Noir   $30

The first time we have ever produced this wine!  A blend of fruit from two bench vineyards, this wine shows a wonderful balance of floral and fruit in a style that is more approachable than our single-vineyard Pinot Noirs. Earthy and beety flavours frame a cherry and raspberry intensity.  Balanced acidity follows a soft and supple mouthfeel that will age for 3-4 years.

Freaks and Geeks

Our series of “antique label” wines show our commitment to experimentation and the highest level of the winemaker’s art.  They are a little experimental, but always interesting.

Freaks and Geeks

2015 Riesling – The Geek   $35
Our second vintage of Geek Riesling is even more Geeky than the first. First, we took all the white-wine lees (from Chardonnay and Riesling) in our entire winery from 2015 vintage and put them in this wine. Then, we took all the lees from our 2014 Geek Riesling when it was finished and put them in too. After 2 years on all this extra lees, we filtered and bottled this truly unique wine. Our “Solara-lees” system will continue into future vintages until we can answer the question everyone has been asking; how much lees is too much lees? Only the Geek knows.
